Guest guest
Welcome to hypo hell! Everything you describe is a hypo symptom. The insomnia may go away soon, and your sleep may well improve; you may find yourself with hypo dreams that many of us experience. Try getting some amount of exercise every day; it often makes a big difference in many hypo complaints. Drink lots of water ... eat lots of fruits and vegetables. If your constipation isn't eased, I would recommend a mild laxative or stool softener, since the problem can become aggravated if left unchecked. I know this isn't terribly helpful, but it's all I got :-\ Good luck - kkitwana2000 wrote: > I have a very strange situation. I had my TT Dec 12, 2001. I THINK it's the sorbitol that has the laxative effect. - BTW, BJ - Kweli is up and on line because she's hypo and can't sleep; what's OUR excuse? :-)

Guest guest
Thanks, again!!! You guys are the best. Duh, I guess I only heard sleepy and tried from my endo...so, I am not crazy. THANK GOD!!! ==) I am willing to bet my calcium is low. I guess I better get back to those TUMS. I will get more exercise and that low sugar candy for the constipation. I am sure this will help. Although, I must admit, I am and always have been a busy-body. My husband thinks I crazy and sickly and want me to retreat to the bed. When he see me vacuuming and cleaning the house he gets worried. So to shut him up I have slowed down...NOW I have PROOF that " exercise " WILL HELP. Thanks, hope all is well., Kweli 43 yr female TT 12-12-01 PP thyca Waiting for 1st RAI 2-6-
Guest guest
To this I HAVE TO ADD that Sugar Free Jelly Belly Beans do the trick. I don't have a constipation problem... but I had some... about 20... and boy oh boy did I regret it. The sugar substitute in it does not get digested so it goes through and brings the rest along... as per an e-mail I received from the Jelly Belly company !! Guest guest
I think the expression you want here (I used it a couple of days ago too!) is " ... goes through you like a dose of salts! Guest guest
Kweli, The inability to sleep well while hypo makes me feel much worse. Without sleep I get headaches, so my overall goal is at least to sleep well during hypo time. The last time I went hypo, I discovered Tylenol PM, which worked well for me. Once I start to feel the withdrawl from Synthroid begin I started taking them each nite and then stopped again when I started back on Synthroid after RAI. It really helped. OBTW, the hospital gave me benedryl to help me sleep also, so since Tylenol PM is just regular tylenol w/ benedryl, if figured it must be ok. Best of luck to you! - Rochester, NY pt 05/01, tt 06/01 RAI 150 mci 08/01 pap/foll/hurthle thyca currently 3.5 weeks into hypo again for follow-up WBS. > Thanks, again!!! You guys are the best. Guest guest
It looks like you are going to have your RAI 5 weeks after going off your cytomel. That seems to me to be a long interval. What I mean to say is that you may already be sufficiently hypo since you have now been off cytomel for about 2 and 1/2 weeks. You could ask your doc to have your TSH assayed now and see if it is high enough to have your RAI advanced to a closer date, thereby lessening the amount of time you have to experience those yucky hypo symptoms. Marilyn Loeb, Rochester, NY Why can't get to sleep??!!! 3:15am EST I have a very strange situation. I had my TT Dec 12, 2001. And, came off my cytemol on the 31th in prep for RAI (Feb 6th). Last count on Jan 7th my T4 is 0.32, TSH is 11.7, T3 53 and Serum thyroglobulin is 1.8 with undetectable antithyrogloblin antibodies. What I have experience, was initally I was getting tried and sleeping a lot. Now I sleep for a few hours and am up a lot. I do have tingling hands and feet, aching muscles, dryness and constipation (the classics). I am experencing muscle fatigue and tried dry eyes.
