Guest guest
, I have received your message about my 15 yo daughter/weaning off Zoloft and thank you for your time. I will not make any changes at this point. I am also contacting you at emails given for more information about a consult concerning my daughter. So many of the replies I have received have me in tears—I am scared, but by listening and hearing you all, I know that my daughter will be okay. I am touched by the caring of the group and realize that the caring stems from a great desire to get people on the track to healing and away from the drugs in a gentle a manner as possible. Thank you for your love Amy in MN From: Withdrawal_and_Recovery [mailto:Withdrawal_and_Recovery ] On Behalf Of Amy Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 10:38 AM To: Withdrawal_and_Recovery Subject: Zoloft/how to wean using 50 mg tablets?? (with response from ) ** Amy, pls wait to do anything until I get a chance to talk to you about this. I'll have some time to respond at some time tomorrow (Thurs)). Regards, CAtherine You have all been so caring concerning my 15 yo daughter coming off Zoloft (25mg). Please know that she has been on Zoloft for almost a full month. (Last time she was on Zoloft it was 50mg/day for 6.25 months before we started weaning in July 06) I understand that many of you have expressed concern in weaning too fast and dropping down in dosage too much. (I had planned to wean as she did last time-by halving the dosage for 3 weeks then that dosage every other day for a few weeks) After calling the clinic yesterday to let them know I would be weaning daughter. Nurse practitioner called back herself (usually it is her nurse). Daughter should come it, worried about the anxiety she is feeling, maybe we need to change the dosage or even try another med. I know I cant go back there for help with this. Her original prescription for Zoloft was 50mg, so I have been cutting them on the score line to give daughter 25mg/day (which was the starting dose- she never this time on Zoloft took 50mg/day). She has been on Zoloft (25mg) this time just under a month. I will look in the files/links for help too, but I am not sure I know how I would decrease at 5-10% and get equal doses with tablets. I have cut a few though this morning and can cut pretty equal looking amounts in quarters (12.5 mg) and can even cut what appear to be halves of those quarters. but couldn't be sure any of this is accurate doses. Do I call the clinic and insist on a liquid form of Zoloft (which they prob. wont give without seeing daughter). I have daughter understanding the reason for getting off Zoloft, but not sure if she would come away from another clinic visit still believing ME. Not sure where to go for help getting an Rx for liquid Zoloft?? Thanks for any advice Amy in MN
