Guest guest
Tara, Thank you so much for your support once again. I spoke to another attending physician and he too told me that the second shot is most likely going to do well. He also said by me bleeding is a good sign. Meaning that the cells are being killed and that is a good sign. What hurts me the most is that besides losing my angel, which was very painful and horrible I am still in pain. I hope and pray to God to help me be strong and get this through as soon as possible. I want to feel normal again. I hope it will be soon. Tara, thanks so much again. If there is anything i can do for you please let me know eventhough I am new at this. Take care...Emperus :-)
Guest guest
Dear Pam, Thanks for responding my question. My next appt is on Monday 6/26 to do another blood test and see if the hcg level has gone down. I have a feeling it will be ok because last night and today i started to bleed but not heavy just right. It is very uncomfortable but i just hope this is it. I wouldn't want to go through the surgery. I will keep you posted. Thanks again and have a nice evening. Hope all is well with you. Emperus. Guest guest
Emperus, It is so hard to know that you're losing your angel in that blood. It was terrible for me. I'm sure the bleeding and pain are constant reminders. I'm praying that it will all be over soon for you. I know I felt a lot better when the bleeding stopped. Guest guest
Jollen Thanks so much for your words. It touched me again and felt depressed. I hope that God will take care of him or her or if it would have been twins. I will never forget him. I hope one day i can be able to see him or her and see his/her image of how they would have looked like. I pray and ask God to let dream of that angel. To show me in my dreams how he/she would have looked like and if it was a boy or girl, This might sound crazy to you but so far i have not dreamed yet. Thanks again and best wishes to you too. Sorry for your angel loss. Emperus
Guest guest
Hello, my name is Kesha and I have been experiencing some type of vulvar discomfort. Over the last six or seven months I have been back and forth to my Gynecologist for many things. Each time I go, I explain to him that I am itching so severely internally and he has treated me for yeast infection after yeast infection and it just keeps going on!! I have had two biopsies done and neither came back with any real answers. I haven't been able to function normally, I have taken some many pills, creams and now I am using (Lidex Cream). I haven't had a normal sex life for months because of this. My doctor says I have inflammation of the vulvar or the cervix. I had a colposcopy done the first time and just a month ago had a Vulvar Biopsy, which shows I have vulvulitis or something like that. My doctor say there is nothing he can do about it. I still feel the itching and I have been using this cream. Just last night, I decided after months of sustaining from sex, me and my boyfriend decided to try. I can even explain the discomfort I felt. It felt like some one was rubbing raw skin and it burned after wards and from the cut my doctor made in doing the vulvar biopsy - it felt so bad. So we stopped a now I feel like I should call my doctor. I am so sick of calling and taking off from work to go in and have no real results. What should I do? I seem to have a discharge from this disorder and I may or may not have a yeast infection, but my doctor said for me to come back in a month, so I am stuck. Don't know what to do in the mean time. Please let me know if you know any thing about this. I am going absolutely insane and starting to get depressed. Please help me.
Guest guest
Hi there, Your symptoms sound pretty typical of what alot of us have experienced hear on the list including myself. I was diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis, Atrophic Vaginitis and Early stage Lichen Sclerosus. LS doesnt always show up on a biopsy. It didnt show up on mine, the doctor didnt find it untill I had a vestibulectomy done and she tested a much larger area of skin. Hear are some URLs that might help (hope they work)I know there are alot of them, but I cant remember which ones I liked best. You might also want to consider seeing a vulvar specialist. Guest guest
Thank you. I am going to try and get in touch with someone in my area. I live in Stafford, VA and I am 25 years old. I just started dealing with this early this year. I don't know what brought it on. I have been stressed, depressed and all of the above over this. I have forwarded some information that I found on estrogen creams to my doctor to see if she thinks it would benefit me to use one. Like I mentioned to another lady, my symptoms go away, but the moment I try to have sex - it is almost instant; if feel like my skin is being scrubbed with a brilo pad and it burns so bad. He gave me LIDEX which is a steroid cream (it burns) so yes - it stopped the itching, but I can't have a normal sex life because of how uncomfortable it feels. Today I feel great, no itching, no burning, no urge to urinate...but FEAR has set in. I am afraid to even attempt to have sex. Afraid that it will burn and I will once again have to go thru months of itching, burning and STRESS!!! I will check out all of the web pages you listed for me. Hoping that I can find the write answer for my condition. You and the other woman have helped me tremendously with all of your own knowledge about vulvar disorders. I had never heard of it - until I had to have my second biopsy done. Never even knew what the vulva was... and that the skin layers played such an important role in my everyday life. Thank you so much, I will keep you up to date. FW: Question Date: Wed, 3 Oct 2001 12:18:18 -0400 Hello, my name is Kesha and I have been experiencing some type of vulvar discomfort. Guest guest
Hi Kesha, my heart is really going out to you. One thing about VV is that there isn't a simple answer to it. There is no magic pill that we can take that will allow us to have a normal sex life. I think that you will discover what your boyfriend is really made of now. Some men can't take the stress of being with a person who has chronic pain, let alone having it be literally agony to have sex. On the other hand many of the husbands/boyfriends of women on this list have become more nurturing, more caring, and more close than they were before the VV struck. In order to have a love life with VV in the picture you need to really communicate with your husband or boyfriend, and you have to always communicate. It can lead to a closer relationship that can remain close forever. Anyway, enough rambling about love and sex... ..... what was sex again, I forget... :-) > > > > > Message: 5 > Date: Thu, 4 Oct 2001 10:40:55 -0400 > > Subject: RE: FW: Question > > Thank you. Guest guest
Hi Friends, Have a very quick question. Does anyone have very swollen angles and feet? My husbands are very bad had to even get socks on and off his feet. He 100% in a wheelchair now and wonder if that is the cause of the swelling? Should I be worried or not? He told me today that the doctors know about it but just can't believe how bad they are and also feet seem to be a bit blue in color. Anyone is this PLS or something else anyone know? Thanks Shirley
Guest guest
Shirley, I do not have swollen feet but if he is sitting in his wheel chair a great deal it could be his circulation I don't think that having it is good. I would call his doctor and talk to him myself and stress how bad it is. I wouldn't wait............ Flora from Florida

Guest guest
Shirley: I have a bit of swelling in my feet at times but it's usually when it's really hot outside, living in Canada, this only happens for about half of our year. I think there are special socks that may help, I'm sorry I don't know alot about them as I've never used them but I'm quite sure I've seen them advertised at local pharmacies. I think they help relieve swelling and maybe are used for people with circulation problems - it might be something you could check into that might help. Good luck. Guest guest
I too take Zanaflex (after trying Baclofen-made me feel like jello) But, the Zanaflex coupled with Klonipin still makes me feel like a " zombie " . My Doc. during last visit switched me off klonipin and started me on Valium (4mg 3Xday) along with about 8mg on Zanaflex/day. Haven't started yet but am afraid I will really be sleeping a lot. I took Valium several years ago for nerve probs and finally got off it in 1989. also, I have dry mouth from Zanaflex. Oh well!!! I don't think I ever took high enough doses of Baclofen or Zanaflex to help with the stiffness. Guest guest
HI! I've been taking Zanaflex for quite a while. I take 30 mg. a day. Some of the side effects - I cannot stay awake. Have to spread the dosages out during the day. I take 12 mg at bedtime along with 100 mg. Elavil to sleep. And do I ever sleep - the house could fall down and I would never wake up!!! Another side effect - but this only happens at bedtime are VERY real hallucinations. They vary in subject matter - anywhere from a clown at the end of the bed to a chicken on the bed with blood dripping out of its mouth. Horrible. I don't know if anyone else has had these effects????? Beth
Guest guest
Beth I too tried Zanaflex & had hallucinations at night. I was gradually increasing the dose as directed & the 2nd or 3rd week I started having a period when I would wake up & see someone, usually a girl, come into the bedroom & climb in bed with me & my husband. It was quite strange the first time, but I got use to it. My Neurologist told me to stop taking it. I tried Neurontin, it made me to groggy & spacey. I've had a Baclofen pump since Nov., so far I'm very pleased with the results. Pat Niehaus
Guest guest
Diabetes has to be stable and controlled otherwise surgery too risky. Too high risk of infection and slow wound healing with high sugars. In hospital they often put surgery patients on insulin pump or infusion to get that good control. Unless your surgery is imminent and life threatening (ie cancer), I would defer unless you have good control. High sugars delay healing and increase risk of infections as affect circulatory system and immune system is then compromised. That is why diabetics get told have flu injection in winter as flu infection can be dangerous for some diabetics. Discuss with your breast surgeon. Guest guest
Jo - my friend has a breast reduction because she had so much shoulder and back surgery (she's not diabetic). She had a short recovery time and now looks & feels fabulous. She wishes she had done it earlier. She was developing a hump in her back from the weight of her breasts - and that seems to be slowly disappearing. It is very important that you talk to your surgeon & let him know that you have diabetes. You will still be able to have the surgery, but may have to post-pone a bit until your sugars are under control. Deanna

Guest guest
Yep - talk to your doctor. They need to know. Diabetics can go through surgery, but the surgical team needs to know, and the hospital staff needs to know.
