I'm just now 11 days off cytomel in preparation for RAI scans. So being well into hypodome I'm feeling pretty good overall except when I sleep. As soon as I lay down 9or shortly there after I get restless legs and arms and when I fall asleep I begin to have very strange absrtact dream accompanied by profuse sweating, then can't sleep. It feels very disturbing. I've done RAI scanning and ablation 2x before but have not experienced these symtoms before. Does any one have an idea about it or similare experience? Guest guest Posted February 7, 2002 Report Share Posted February 7, 2002 I have had the insomnia and restless legs syndrome you describe every single time (7x) I have gone off cytomel just before my scan. It is awful because I am already worn out and then not to be able to sleep seems like a double whammy! We have had previous discussions on the thyca list about the weird dream state too with many responses about having odd, unsettling dreams (nightmares!) while hypo. That's DEFINITELY one of the symptoms no Dr. ever seems to mention, but so many have posted about the nightmares while hypo that I feel certain it has to do with being off meds and altered sleep patterns. My nightmares are always full of violence and blood and gore (no wonder I get insomnia....who wants to watch those scary movies! LOL).
