Patna: HIV training programme conducted successfully at Patna.

Dear All,

Training Program on “HIV / AIDS Prevention and Education Part II” was organized

from 21St May 2007 to 25Th May 2007 at SCADA Business Center, Patna.

The Training Program was duly inaugurated by Mr. Uday Narayan Chowdhary,

Honorable Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly and Chairman, State Legislative

Forum on HIV / AIDS. He expressed his views on HIV / AIDS and also remarked that

poverty and unemployment is one of the major reasons for spreading HIV / AIDS in

Bihar.

He also focused about necessities of organizing such Training Programs for HIV /

AIDS awareness and thanked RATNEI for organizing such programs. Altogether 50

participants had participated in the training program from several parts of

India. Dr. Anil Purohit, Executive Director, IHO; Dr. Diwakar Tejaswi, Medical

Director, RATNEI, IHO; Dr. B.B. Verma, Regional Director, IHO, Dr. H. R. Mishra,

President, IHO Advisory Board and were present on the occasion.

International HIV / AIDS Experts like Mr. Terry (Terje ),

Vermont, U.S.A., Dr. Joe , Mr. Jagdish Harsh, Internet based

communication skills expert on AIDS delivered lectures during the training

program.

From the panel of National and Local Experts Dr. P.K. Singh, Program Executive,

Kalyani Health Programme, Doordarshan Kendra, Patna, Ms Shahrukh Alam, Faculty,

Chankya Law College, Patna, Dr. Rashmi Singh, Head Community Medicine Dept.,

PMCH and Dr Diwakar Tejaswi, Medical Director RATNEI, delivered lectures and

answered different questions of participants about HIV / AIDS.

Mr. Rajneesh Singh, President BNP+ also addressed participants about Effective

Association and Networking of PLWHA in Bihar.

Dr. M. L. Verma, Principal cum Dean, Faculty of Medicine, PMCH and Dr. A.K.

Singh, Dean-cum-A/Director, I.G.I.M.S. were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour

respectively on the occasion of certificate distribution ceremony. They also

appreciated efforts of RATNEI, IHO in HIV AIDS control.

Our nest modular training for Medical Doctors is scheduled from June 25th till

June 29th, 2007.
