Guest guest
Hugs to you too Eunice! I hope I continue to learn from all of you nice friends here on this group about our health issues and learn to help each other in the process throughout this new year. I love hearing about other peoples situations and I do learn from others. I'm so sad our other group isn't there anymore but with Nick inviting us to this one I am happy because now I can make more friends who live with the same conditions as me and can learn and grow with you all. Happy New Year everybody! and I hope I can be an asset to this group. For those that don't know me I am a 42 year old female hispanic with type 2 diabetes for 5 years now that I know of and I also have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and my triglycerides are awful. I also have chronic neck pain for 22 years now along with aches and pains all over(I'm just all beat up) mother of 6, 3 of whom I gave birth to. I love to sew, cook, quilt and just be a mom. I am active in internet quilting groups and love it! I have had a very sad past year losing 6 family members throughout the year from this disease and victims of crime. I am looking forward to a more positive new year and hope that I can attribute to making it go out with a bang in a great way. To all of you, I pray to the lord above that we all can do better with taking care of ourselves to be able to give ourself the gift of a Better quality of life. Guest guest
Hi , happy to see you here too. I'm glad there are many of you who really do know lots about our health problems. Believe me I will be asking questions. I've got one already: do any of you ever get stabbing pains in your nerve? I recently have been getting an occasional pain that is in my knee and on my left lower shoulder muscle, but the one in my knee is worse. It may be from the meds or it may be something new. Any clues or experience of this to be passed on would be greatly appreciated. thanks Aguilera

I have been having them for about 6 years, so I know it is not diabetes related. It doesn't hurt everyday, only once in awhile. I have not asked my doctors about it because it is not getting any worse and it doesn't slow me down. However, you may want to ask your doctor about them. Guest guest
Eunice, my arm pain is only occasional too but I have recently started on a new medication which has a rare risk of damage to the muscle. I did tell my doctor about it but he said to let him know if it gets worse. It hasn't but I was just curious if it was due to something else. And the knee pain has started after taking that medicine too but it is a different pain, real sharp only occasionaly also. It's a bugger though when it happens, it kind've makes my knee want to automatically bend kind've like when the doctor hits your knee and your leg jerks except with a sharp pain instead of a funny feeling. Thanks for you input. Aguilera

What other > meds do you take? > yes , I do. I have very high cholesterol, the tryglycerides are all bad and high blood pressure too. I also take the same med as you. I take lipitor. And I am aware of the side effects, that's why I was concerned. But so fast after taking it I was feeling these pains. I hope for my sake it isn't from the med and from something else because the cholesterol is dangerously high. And I'm not even really overweight that much. I'm 5'2 " I weigh 150 lbs and 42 yrs old. But I have my numbers really high in the cholesterol and tryglycerides readings are really bad too. I need to take the meds for this but I'm concerned I may be one of the rare cases and hoping that I'm not so I can lower the bad stuff. That there is nothing else. Aguilera
