HIV Situation in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh

Greeting from UPNP+!

As you all aware, Allahabad district is the most populated city in

Uttar Pradesh and has so far been surveying the HIV Positive

population.

Earlier this month, VCTCT Medical Collage, Allahabad has done 400

HIV testing and got 74 peoples HIV positive- the new data shows that

our socio culture societies are not aware in these issues by day

even after several technical assistance and awareness programs

efforts from UPSACS.

Around 4.5 lacks people living with HIV/AIDS in U.P. and very fast

growing the number of HIV positive peoples and after positive

status, people much tensioned and think no life, no care, no

support, no acceptance, no honor and so more. So need more active

support to these persons " .

UPNP+ is always doing work for linkage with new PLHAs and also

linkage with the ART centre and having access to proper treatment.

We seek the involvement of your renowned organization in the

aforesaid programme, which is working on HIV/AIDS and related issues

to participate with us.

Expecting, we will get lot of much need help and your active

participation in solidarity with the PLHAs in Uttar Pradesh.
