Guest guest Posted January 6, 2002 Report Share Posted January 6, 2002 Hi gang, I just need to vent yet again. Can you believe I have yet another infection? I just got done with three and 1/2 weeks of vancomycin iv and primaxin iv for cellulitis on my arm. I was supposed to go in the hospital but there was a three day backup to get admitted. I never knew that could happen. Anyway, we couldn't wait that long so I did it at home. This time I think I have an abscess because my shin is draining pus but also have cellulitis all the way up and over my knee. Half of me wants to stay home in my own bed with my puppies and the 'puter and the other half wants to go to the hospital for pain control. The pain is incredibly much worse then I have had anytime except for the time I had a knee joint infection. Even taking more then my usual doses of oxycontin and dilaudid the pain is still too intense to walk on my leg. Sorry I am rambling but I am scared of what will happen tomorrow when I go see my family doc. If I need an ortho my ortho is in Hartford which is over an hour away and of course my family doc doesn't go there. All this and my husband was laid off from his job so in the midst of taking care of me he is looking for a job. He doesn't really need me to be sick again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Thanks for listening I just had to get it out. I think my fever is spiking again since I am shaking uncontrollably. Bummer. Think of me in about 9 hours. Thanks friends.
