Guest guest
I've come upon my first allergy season (for all things pollen related and furry animals) while taking thyroid replacement drugs. All of my over the counter allergy medications (nothing prescription related has ever worked any better than over the counter medications) say " DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE THYROID DISEASE. " So, I've got a head cold now, and all my usual over the counter remedies for cold symptoms all say the same thing. What's a thyca to do? Since it's pretty impossible to get in touch with my endo, I do plan to talk to my pharmacist. But have any of you had the same problem? And, if so, what do you take? I'm at work knee deep in kleenex at the moment with a very runny nose! Send help! Thanks, Taya PT, 11/01 diagnosed papillary cancer and hashimoto's TT scheduled 4/

I take children's benadryl for colds and runny noses (the grape one) the kid's dose does enough that i'm not drowning in kleenex. If they get bad, my doc prescribes Humbid, which is a decongestant that doesn't have the thyroid issues (heart reactions stuff like that). For allergies I take claritin without problems. barb
