THREE OLD SPINSTERS

Three old spinsters, one 92 years old, one 94 years old ,and one 96

years old, all lived together sharing the same house.

One day the oldest 96 year old sister went upstairs and drew herself

a bath. She dipped one foot in the water, paused, then called downstairs

to her two younger sisters, " Am I getting into the bath, or out of the bath? "

The 94 year old middle sister started up the stairs to help her 96 year old

sister, then she paused and called back downstairs to her younger 92 year

old sister, " Was I going up the stairs, Dear, or was I coming down? "

The younger 92 year old sister, who was sitting at the kitchen table sipping

from her tea, responded loudly, " I suppose I'll always have to help you two

old girls remember what it is that you are doing.

.....'knocking on wood'.... the younger sister shouted aloud, " I hope I never

get as forgetful as you two are! "

Then she got up from the table, paused, and shouted out, " I'll be up to help

the both of you, as soon as I see who's knocking at the door! "
