with only a few scorch marks.

She was going for " old and disoriented " this evening... that after

telling me her new (and smaller) pants size at the Old Navy sale this

morning... go figure.

I brought presents, cooked dinner, and devoted several hours to

her... she sat on the couch ( " tired " ) had many, many messages beep

through on her cell, checked emails constantly, commented that " well

at least I'm not in a nursing home " (she's only 61), complained about

ramdom things, pushed the " grandson " card (don't ask... he's now

seeing my therapist to figure out how to deal with her) and bitched

about her ex huband #2 (who's house she's at btw). Wow. Party on.

She wanted to 'get into it' the whole evening but when I'd respond in

a 'therapy approved manner' she would stop, look confused and

retreat. I get a HUGE GOLD STAR for sticking to my guns. Figured if

she got weird I'd just leave. Somehow that message sunk in tonight.

I have given up hope of for a deep meaningful change here... my heart

is broken... but I did the right thing tonight. I see therapist

Monday again... we scheduled around Nada's bday for a very specific

reason...lol.

Lynnette-

Well at least she will be the best dressed resident when she finally

does end up needing nursing home care. And it is all about what size

you wear, don't you know?!?

Glad you managed to get through the whole thing relatively

unscathed. I am familiar with scheduling therapist appointments

around significant events all too well.

Hang in there!

Gosh, I woke up laughing this morning with the " at least I'm not in a

nursing home " comment ringing in my ear... my SO called last night

to " check in " and see " how it went " ... OMG... that comment - at

first - made him furious but then he realized it was a PERFECT MOVE

on Nada's part. The backstory to the nursing home with her is that

she's signed a " pact " with a friend that if either of them gets PUT

in a nursing home, the other one can kill them. Yep... HAPPY #$%@#$

BITHDAY!

Ya know... nursing homes only let you stay if you're HOT... even her

therapy groups (who loved her new outfits, btw) said so... of course,

that was when she was still going.... oh, and the bankruptcy judge...

if she ever follows through with any of that, they're going to so go

easy on her for MATCHING!!! Right - O!

After my total breakdown Friday (silent screams of horror and

anguish, see previous thread about me not having a childhood...)I

feel strangely purged. Cleansed almost. A Baptismal of sorts...

Sure, she's crazy. Yep, it's a ride. Do I have to buy tickets?

No. Do I have anything to be ashamed of? Not a one.

Three steps forward, 1/2 step back...
