Guest guest
OK I take 2 Iron and 2 500 mg C first thing each morning with my first protein shake of the day . one hour later I take a multi and ,dry E,Dry A & D and one calcium two hours later one calcium two hours later another Calcium then at bedtime I take zinc ,multi, calcium all this plus my B-12 injection the first of every month . As far as protein shakes I like the pro blend 55 and pro score 100 ( both chocolate for me ). I think you need to get labs and when they come back get a copy and let (Vitalady) help you so you can get up to where you should be OK ..Always get a copy of your lab work so you can take care of you ! Guest guest
If you have not been taking Calcium all the time you really should ask your PCP about a bone density or dexascan test to check for osteoporosis .It is not that expensive and one I think you may need . Guest guest
Can someone please explain to me why the " Over-Kill " if our bodies require only small amounts of vitamins that are essential for maintaining vital body processes. Guest guest
When your digestive system has been disabled, it takes a more specific formula to get nutrition into he intestines in a digested form. Without digestion, there it not absorption. Guest guest
Due to our surgery we cannot absorb all we need thru food and I myself had surgery to become healthy not the opposite so it is a chance I am not willing to take . I think we just want to remain healthy after we lose our weight Re: importance of taking vitamins > Can someone please explain to me why the " Over-Kill " if our bodies require only small amounts of vitamins that are essential for maintaining vital body processes. Guest guest
Dear n, I had a complete staple line disruption at 4 months post op with the development of marginal ulcer which perforated, caused me to develop peritonitis, and also spread to the backside of my liver. I was revised.. as in being transected, my pouch being re established, and the ulcer on my stoma being resected and the one on the liver being scraped. The second revision was to re construct my pouch as it had become very atonic.. meaning I had an enlarged pouch with no muscle tone. I also had three hernia repairs.. a grapefruit sized incisional hernia which was attached to an umbilical hernia, and a massive hiatal hernia. I had three feet of intestines removed.. distal ileum.. damaged from the previous bout of peritonitis, and lastly, I had more intestines bypassed to make me more distal and more likely to achieve and maintain the weight that I desire to be. Take care Hugs,

Guest guest
because we malabsorb - at least those of us with the RNY do. That means we only take in part of the vitamins we swallow, so mega-dosing allows us to get what we NEED, otherwise we'll be sick and malnourished. Guest guest
, Is it important to take your vitamins at certain intervals? I know not to take iron and calcium at the same time and you need C with iron. Other than that, I just take them as I have time to down them. Guest guest
n - are you getting any counseling? I am worried about you because you are really battling the depression and sounds like you are slipping back into old habits of using food to feel better. You need to find other ways to feel better without using food. A counselor could be a big help with that, and be a face to face person to talk to about all that you are going through. You seem like a very sweet lady, but also a very troubled lady, and I for one want to see you succeed as a healthy thin person. You said you are doubling up on your vitamins for now. Does that mean you took 8 at one time? Or 4 of them twice a day? I would go with the 4 of them twice a day myself until you get your order from Vitalady. Well, that's all I have to add at this point. We care about you, lady. Jeanne in WI Age 38 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ 275.5 /150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@...
