I am feeling somehow oversensitive now and unsettled, somehow anxious. Other symptoms are tiredness and lack of concentration. I know from previous times I need to wait. Usually I start feeling better in around one week from the decrease. I have waited this time for 6 weeks as I had a very stressful time and did not want to add any extra load on me. But I recognise I have the need to speed process up, as I wish to finish it asap. From my experience I know that it does not work. Every time I tried to do things quicker I ended up with the difficult withdrawal symptoms. My decrease rule is 5% at the time. I cannot do 10% although I wish I could... My meds history is very long, started 25 years ago from neuroleptics, then tricycled antidepressants and benzodiasepins + sleeping pills. Since 2001 I have been on SSRIs, starting from Paroxetin and now on effexor. In over one year time I stopped my anti-acidic medication, beta- blocker and diasepam (diasepam as recently as January)...Now I am on Effexor journey to recovery. I know it will take me over one year, as I try to integrate my decrease with the level of everyday stress...I wish I could have long vacation just for doing decrease, but life goes on and I have other responsibilities in it. To balance it I try to be in bed when I am tired, even if I need to go to bed at 7pm. I don't go out much, so don't get overstimulated in any other aspect than work. I have started Yoga classes...My husband knows my every step of decrease... Hopefully, in one year I will be Effexor free! I know it will feel free, as with every decrease I am beginning to feel differently... Thanks for listening, just wanted to share... Ikam>> ** I'm confused. The 1st paragraph states you are on the 2nd day of a " 25% decrease " . Then, in the 4th paragraph you state you can only do 5%. Could you explain what you meant by " 25% decrease " ? Thanks. --
