Guest guest
Dear All , Last several postings have clearly demonstrated the hollow & faulty drug delivery policy existing in several north eastern states and particularly witnessed in Manipur. There is a chain from production at one end to the delivery to the ultimate user at the other. Somehow, different players at different part of this chain have no coherence, no co ordination and even no ethical considerations. Every player is concerned with their own domain. This is the most unfortunate part , because here we are dealing with human lives and not any other commodity in business. It is indeed most inhuman if disruption takes place in supply of these life saving drugs, ARTs, Insulin for Diabetics, Coronary Dilators for Heart patients etc. Temporary supply for few days when there is a scarcity is only " Patch Work " and will not solve the problem. Stockists , Distributors , Dealers & Government Drug Depots should inbuilt the system of " Forecasting " - so that based on last 6 months / 12 months uptake can prepare them to have sufficient " Buffer Stock " to last any crisis which can contribute in ensuring consistency in smooth supply . If a solution is to be looked for , which could have a long term impact , every player in this chain need to be urgently brought to board which can be led by TEAM or the Government . This can then initiate the process of laying down some fundamental principles on consistent drug delivery Policy which can be formulated and adopted including Quality monitoring. I wish you All the Best & I hope you can collectively formulate such a Policy. By the way, nice to hear that TEAM was formed ! Best of Luck to each of you !
