Guest guest
, I have been tapering my meds and am down to around 2.15 mg of Remeron and 7mg Doxepin. I have been using the 10% rule with Remeron. The weird number for the Doxepin is due to my tapering it initially before realizing it wasn't smart to taper a sleep med first. Anyway, I have encountered some of the worst insomnia I have dealt with since I started tapering my meds in 2006. Not totally unexpected but very tiring obviously. I have found that Benadryl works but I don't want to continue on it as I found out it is slightly ototoxic. As one who developed a hearing loss from Remeron and tinnitus from my other meds, that isn't a good thing. I saw your suggestion for sleep remedies in another post. But because I wonder if allergies are also a factor in my insomnia (if I don't take Benadryl, when I wake up, my nose is completely stuffed) is there a herbal remedy or supplement that is equivalent? Or should I stick with those recommendations? Thanks. VB>> ** I'm not aware of one that will do double duty but I do know that Vit c works wonders for allergies. Take 500 mg. every 1-2 hours while awake. If this dosn't work, try 5-6 grams a day in 3-4 doses. --C

Can you recommend a good brand that doesn't cause diarrhea as when I go above 1500 mg, I experience that? The one I am using is not a good one.
