Dear Cathrine,

Thanks so much for taking time to make such a kind response and

dedicating your knowledge to helping us.

I will try to answer your questions, and you should know i am feeling

a bunch better, but still have some burning stomach.

YOU SAID:In order to answer your question about what dose of Prozac

you should be taking to bring your body back to a stable condition, I

need to know your original dose.

ANSWER;ORIGINAL DOSE WAS 20 MG PER DAY.

Chances are you'll need to go back to the original dose as 10mg a

week is much too fast of a withdrawal.

I ACTUALLY GOT THAT WRONG IN MY LETTER TO YOU. IVE BEEN GETTING MIXED

UP LATELY. I DECREASED 10 MG EVERY 3 WEEKS. I SEE NOW HOW IT WAS

COMPLETELY DONE WRONG. BUT ANY WAY THAT WAS (BUT YOU KNOW THIS

ALREADY):

7% DECREASE THE FIRST WEEK, TO 130MG PER WEEK (OCT OR NOV 2007)

7.6% THE 3RD WEEK,TO 120

8.3% THE 6TH WEEK,TO 110

9% THE 12TH WEEK, TO 100

10% THE 15TH WEEK TO 90

11% THE 18TH WEEK TO 80

12% THE 21ST WEEK TO 70, THEN I SLOWED DOWN TO EVERY 5 WEEKS DECREACE

14% THE 26 TH WEEK TO 60 ( THIS WAS WHEN I GOT SICK)

16% THE 31 TH WEEK TO 50 THIS IS WHEN I WENT BACK TO 70 MG A WEEK,

LIKE ONE 10MF PER DAY AND THAT WAS mAY 21 OR 9 WEEKS AGO... NOT

EXACTLY 5% AND I MADE NO EVALUATION OF MY CONDITION WHEN DECIDING

WHEN TO DO THE NEXT REDUCTION.

Prozac has an average half-life of 216 hours (more than a week).

This is merely an average. For some people it is less, for others,

more. By dropping weekly you never gave the first 10mg decrease to

even set in. So, by the time you werre doing other decreases, there

was this snowball effect. It is basically the same as dropping the

entire amount you dropped all at once. THIS A IS VERY GOOD INSITE!!

You're at difficult spot. There is what I refer to as a " window

of opportunity " for reinstating a drug. You're not exactly

reinstating as you are still taking the drug but your body has been

in crisis and struggling to bring some balance to itself so it may

have reached the point of being unable to accommodate an increase of

the drug now. If this is the case, this really complicates the

picture.I UNDERSTAND

As far as supplements go, they will help your body in its arduous

task ahead. I ADDED MAGNISIUM CITRATE TO MY PILLS..

You spoke of taking a homeopathic remedy. What symptoms was this

Rx based upon? None of what you wrote to me here says Causticum to

me. IVE BEEN TREATED WITH IT FOR 10 YEARS TREATMENTS FOR ASTHMA,

CHEMICAL SENSITIVITIES, ARTHRITIS, ENDIMETRIOSIS AND THYROID STORM,

AND OTHER AUTOIMUNE STUFF AND " A " PERSONALITY. THE HOMEOPATH IS A

WORLD REKNOWND AND IT REALLY IS WORKING, I STILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE

SLOWLY.

I think some of the key guiding symptoms for you would be the burning

stomach (should not lean toward remedies that are based upon stomach

acid symptoms),OK, NO MORE ANTACID TX. THE HOMEOPATH GAVE ME THE

ENZYMES FOR THE BURNING STOMACH AND THE MAGNESIUM TOO WHEN I HAD THE

CHEST PAINS.

and the emotional symptoms of believing you've worked " too hard " and

of not wanting to do things people say will help you. YEP.

Do you actually have IBS? When did these symptoms begin? I BEGAN TO

HAVE CONSTIPATION WHEN I WAS LITTLE, FROM THE STRESS, BUT THE IBS

STARTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE PROZAC. Why are you taking red

yeast rice? TO LOWER CHOLESTEROL (360). THE ACTUAL STOMACH PAINS HAVE

BEEN OFF AND ON FOR YEARS. LIKE AN ULCER. AND SOMETIMES HURTS IN MY

CHEST AND I HAD BOTH A LOT MORE SINCE I STARTED TAKING PROZAC. THE

HEART PAINS I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THEY STARTED, BUT THEY WERE A

WHOLE LOT WORSE WHEN I GOT DOWN TO 60 AND 50MG A WEEK OF PROZAC..

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS THE INFORMATION YOU WERE LOOKING FOR.

AND THANKS AGAIN FOR CONSIDERING ME. I AM OPEN TO THE PHONE

CONSULTATIONS IF THAT WOULD BE BETTER..THANKS.

Regards,
