Guest guest
Hi I am going to start tapering my 5ml prozac in a few weeks, exquisitly slowly this time, I will go from 5ml to 4.90ml for a few weeks, then 4.80ml for a few weeks and so on, the thing is, I have tried and failed so many times in the past (doing the alternate day thing with Lustral tablets as advised by doctor), for a long time I have believed that I " needed " these tablets to lead a normal life, and my husband believed this too until we educated ourselves, I tried tapering prozac earlier this year but fell flat on my face and felt really depressed/anxious, I think because I went way too fast again, I reduced by 10% over the course of three weeks. I have been wanting to come off this stuff for 9 years now because of the effect on my sex drive which I absolutely hate. I have a very positive and supportive husband and we have a very strong relationship which I know will help, but I really would love to hear from people on here who have suceeded (I've heard enough horror stories on other web sites), anyone out there who can offer me words of encouragementand tell me that " yes, it is possible and yes you can do it " I would love to hear from you, because I am a little scared and phobic about it now, which is why I have to take it so minutely slowly to build my confidence. Oh and you name it, I've done it or tried it, I've had counselling, done an anxiety management course, read books, tried meditation, and have been taking supplements since new year. Guest guest
Good luck! I smiled when I read your list of all the other things you've tried: ad counselling, done an anxiety management course, read books, tried meditation, and have been taking supplements since new year. You've missed hypnosis, neurofeedback, acupuncture, and Reiki! My son and I have done neurofeedback, which is phenomenally successfull (need the right clinician or you can buy the equipment and do it yourself). My son has also done hypnosis, acupuncture, and Reiki. He found hte first two to be helpful--especially with anxiety, confidence, sleep, just feeling good. He enjoyed Reiki, which he did just a couple of times, but didn't see any long-term benefits. That doesn't mean it doesn't work. Generally, these alternative things require a bunch of sessions to make a difference.Good luck on your tapering!Jane
