Guest guest
Shamiso: Sounds like what you had done was an HSG or very similar. It can show blockages, but not scar tissue or problems with the fimbrulae (nodules) in the tube that could also cause ep's. An HSG can be done without the laproscopy surgery - it is like an x-ray, and they insert the dye through a catheter in your cervix. I had it done in August, and while it was not "comfortable" it was not painful either. Just some cramping for me. I have very painful periods though, so when I say it was not that bad, you have to understand where I am coming from. It took about half an hour for them to get all the x-rays they needed. Basically, what I am saying is that there are no guarantees with the HSG. It shows that you have the potential to ttc naturally, but it does not guarantee that there are NO factors that would cause another ep either. Especially since you have had an ep in that tube and surgery to repair it (which can cause its own set of problems in some cases) I would be very cautious about ttc naturally. Make a list of questions and talk in depth with your doctor about this. You might also want to see an RE (a doctor who specializes in tubal problems) and talk about things from that perspective. I did not go that route, but I also had not had any previous problems with the tube I have remaining. I am sure that some of the ladies who are going through IVF can comment on what they are preparing to do or whatever, and Krista has had the procedure done, so you might email her with questions. I am sure she would be glad to tell you about her experience. Take care and feel free to reply with any questions you might come up with that I did not answer for you. You can also check out Krista's website - she talks about a lot of procedures there as well
