Face stiffness and toes curling under

Hi everyone,

na had asked about face stiffness and I'm just getting back to answer

that. I have that too. It seemed to start after I fractured my skull last

spring but there's an area in the center of my forehead about 3 " across and

from under my eyebrows to almost my hairline that tightens up almost like a

muscle spasm. Sometimes it even spreads down my nose and cheeks. It

doesn't hurt that much at first but seems to get worse the longer it

continues like a tension headache. I seem to get it when I'm stressed or

too tired. I have tried massaging it with a little wooden massager I have

and that does seem to help sometimes. My doctor just shrugged when I asked

her if it could be related to the PLS, but I think it is just more

spasticity. My PCP says when I got the skull fracture, I would have

stretched ligaments in my scalp too and that could cause the muscles to

spasm.

As for Jane having toes that curl under, mine do too. I was having a lot of

spasticity in them too which would lock them up until my Baclofen was

increased. They curl under all the time now and I get calluses on the tops

of the joints from rubbing against my shoes. I'm getting numbness in my

toes also and my neuro says its due to the pressure of my toes pushing

against my shoes. I guess that could be it, but again it seems the numbness

is spreading up the sides of my feet. My shoes aren't tight either, my feet

seem like they're shrinking as all my shoes are looser than they used to be.

I wish I could have gone to the NC meet. It sounds like it was great.

Regards,
