UP: Death, while waiting for HIV testing facility

Dear all

This is the situation of state capital of Uttar Pradesh (UP) . There is no

proper testing facilities related to HIV at KGMU, Lucknow and no third kit for

confirmatory HIV test from the last one month and most of the time machine of

CD-4 test is in out of order. These gaps are great barriers to follow-up of the

treatment.

We have lost our one of 24 year young friend yesterday due to long fifteen days

waiting of his HIV test result. This is the case we notice. There are number of

cases they are waiting for his/her test or results.

State should notice the real situation of health services and take necessary

action for healthy living of people living with HIV/AIDS.
