Hi and everyone,

After reading your recommendation for Annette to switch from

Clonazepam to Valium I've been wondering if I should consider doing

the same. I know everyone is different so I want to check it out

with you before I mention it to my psych. I am currently taking

1mg of Clonazepam per day (.25mg at breakfast, .25mg at dinner

time, and .5mg at bedtime). I have been taking Clonazepam for most

of the last 13 years. I was completely off it (too fast of course)

for several months at 2 different times. I am also taking 150mg of

Bupropion per day (100mg at breakfast and 50mg at dinner time. I

am not ready to start reducing either of these meds yet because

it's too soon after stopping Effexor (too quickly because of low

kidney function). But I am wondering if it would be a good idea

for me to switch to Valium now. What do you think?

Nance

** Hi Nance,

I think if all is going well we should leave well enough alone. In time, a

switch may be warranted. Have you ever taken Valium? We know that Clonazepam is

safe for you. I'm wondering if you metabolize Valium as well, too. The reason

I'm suggesting staying with the Clonazepam for now is because 13 yrs. is a long

time.

Regards,
