Palmyrah Worker’s Development Society (www.pwds.org), founded in 1977, offers

development support services to sustain community initiatives. PWDS promotes and

works with community based organisations and support service organisations

aiming at self management and sustainability. Currently PWDS coordinates five

field projects, and has promoted ten support organisations with mainstream

linkages. It works in 29 districts in Tamil Nadu through network programmes with

50 NGOs as partners.

The PWDS Alliance HIV/AIDS Programme was initiated in the southern districts of

Tamil Nadu in 2000 with PWDS as the lead partner. Currently the programme

reaches out to people in low income groups in 800 villages in over 13 districts

in central and south Tamil Nadu through 20 implementing NGO partners.

Ability to work in a team, excellent oral and written and verbal communication

skills in English and Tamil, and computer proficiency is essential.

Prior exposure to HIV/AIDS related work desirable. Willingness to travel is

essential.

Desired Profile

M & E Officer Post Graduate in social sciences, public health or related field.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience of working in a

similar position in HIV/AIDS, health or Development project is preferable. Good

understanding of data and ways of presenting research findings for different

audiences from program management to policy and advocacy and everything in

between. Excellent writing skills. Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word,

Power Point, and Excel) is highly desirable.

Programme Officer

Post Graduate in social sciences, public health or related field. Excellent

communication and presentation skills. Experience of working in HIV/AIDS project

is preferable. Proven analytical and report writing skills. Good working

knowledge of MS Office (Word, Power Point, and Excel) is highly desirable.

Compensation

Compensation shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications. Selected

candidates will be required to join within one month of selection. Only short
