I am taking 2 mgs. The script is for 2 mg 4X a day. The doctor yesterday said that this is the kind of drug that I would feel more tomorrow than today. Is this the case? Or is the dosage wrong to work as a substitute? Or do I need to give it some time? Based on what you've said and other things I've read, I'd really like to switch over. Thanks>> ** You will feel it a little more as it builds over a few days (the average half-life of Valium is about 200 hrs.). You didn't say how long the relief lasted or things were bearable. When asking the questions you did, it is important to be detailed in the info you give. Stating, " ... but didn't control the anxiety for nearly as long " gives me no understanding at all of how this drug at this dose worked for you. It's also not clear whether you took the entire daily prescribed dose or just one dose of 2 mg. However, if you said " I took 2 mg of Valium at 10am and I felt fine until 4pm. At that point, it wasn't really a bad anxiety but I'd call it moderate. I found myself getting short-tempered with people if I had to engage in more than a pleasant short verbal exchange. At 6pm, the anxiety was at about 70%. " Does this help? Thanks. Regards,
