<<Hi :

Just a reminder: I am 2.5 years off Cymbalta, but recently I returned, after

2.5 years also, to a low dose (0.125mg daily) of clonazepam. I have been

tapering the clonazepam by 10% every 15-20 days with success but today I

feel that I have the " old " Cymbalta withdrawal symptoms: -fatigue, brain

zaps, nervousness and depression.

I think that these are not clonazepam withdrawal symptoms ( I can be wrong)

because I have been tapering really slowly.

My question:

Is it possible that even after 2.5 years of being Cymbalta free, there are

days that those symptoms can return for a couple of days and after they

disappear?. I feel that brain zaps are exclusively for AD withdrawal but I

would like to hear your opinion about this. Yesterday I was OK, but today I

began to feel really bad.

Thanks a lot

** , first, a reduction in clonazepam of 10% every 15-20 days is not a

slow reduction. that is about every 2-3 weeks. It is not possible to continue

that way throughout a withdrawal. There are times that you will have to go much

slower. Most likely you've hit that time every time you feel the withdrwal

symptoms you've described (brain zaps can happen from any psychotropic drug

including benzodiazepines like clonazepam).

The best thing to do is to raise your clonazepam dose to a dose at which you

last felt good with no symptoms of withdrawal. THis should quickly resolve the

problem. If it doesn't then yes, you are looking at an issue with Cymbalta.

Cymbalta metabolizes into numerous metabolites most of which are highly protein

bound in blood plasma. Trying to get more info on this is like the military

trying to find bin Laden. What those in power don't want us to find will b very

difficult to find.

Try increasing the cloazepam and let me know what happens.

Regards,
