Rally in Delhi on 26th April: Global Day of Action against Abbott

Dear Forum,

Please join hands with the Delhi Network of Positive People (DNP+) on the 26th

of April, 2007 (Global Day of Action against Abbott) at 10:30am at Jantar

Mantar, New Delhi for a rally to celebrate the Thai Government’s issue of

compulsory licenses and to protest Abbott’s shameful retaliatory actions against

Thai patients.

WHY: To celebrate the Thai government’s action of issuing compulsory licenses on

essential drugs including HIV drugs to ensure access to treatment for our Thai

brothers and sisters.

We are also condemning Abbott’s shameful actions in retaliation against the

issue of the compulsory licenses by withdrawing their new medicines and drug

registrations from the Thai market and holding the lives of Thai patients to

ransom.

WHAT: Rally and protest march 10.30 am onwards.

Right after the rally, join us at the Thai Embassy, Chanakyapuri, to celebrate

and congratulate the Thai Ambassador the issue of compulsory license on AIDS

drugs. We will hand over a memorandum of support; distribute sweets, garlands -

the works.
