It might be cheaper to buy a bottle of apple juice in a gallon glass

jar from whole foods or wild oats.

Crayfishfeed,

I'm right up there with you on the duh! factor and would give ya a good run for

your money in that contest. I was using plastic bottles until someone else

filling up at the watering hole used glass bottles. Hmm, I think I have a bunch

of empty gallon jugs in the garage from back in the day when I was thinking of

using some unpasteurized ACV to restore the good stuff to pasteurized.

I started using the empty one gallon apple juice bottles that I had in my

garage. Since a gallon of organic apple juice is $7 at Whole Foods, its cheaper

than the cost of the lid. And if you won't drink the apple juice, it makes a

good fertilizer because the sugar feeds the soil, or pour it on the compost

pile.

Have you tried going to a grocery store and just

looking for a bottle of juice that has the same size

lid as your own?

I lost the top to my container and found that the lid

to a GTS Kombucha bottle fits perfectly.

That's funny! The lids for GT's get rusty after a few uses. I've found that

almost every vitamin bottle fits the GT's bottles.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It's just that the gallon sized jar I

have has such a wide mouth, like a weston price native. I think I need

to just buy one of those apple juice glasses if they have it at the

store I go to.

I asked at our local health food store for empty glass gallon jars. they gave me

some that

had apple juice in them, for free, and they came with lids. I was going to use

them for raw

milk but they are too hard to clean with the narrow opening.
