Guest guest
A month or so ago, I had an insurance exam and by BUN test (Blood Urea Nitrogen ) was slightly elevated. The insurance wanted to charge me more based upon that; I have decided to restest. Here's the think, I suspect that the elevation is due to two things (1) larger consumption of meat, and (2) My Olympic Weightlifting regimen. Now, I am not really alarmed by this slightly elevated figure but I would like to PLEASE the insurance examiners, so is there a way to temporarily reduce this score? Would drastically reducing my meat consumption do it? For how long...a week, longer? Please give suggestions. Thanks,
Guest guest
An elevated BUN on its own without an elevated creatinine usually just indicates some level of dehydration. Are you drinking enough? Was there protein in your urine? I think the insurance company is trying to scam you unless you have other indicators of possible kidney disease. Try drinking more water and non-caffeinated beverages. Make sure your urine is almost clear next time they test. I know it's a blood test, but the urine color should indicate hydration. Hope this helps a little. > > A month or so ago, I had an insurance exam and by BUN test (Blood Urea > Nitrogen ) was slightly elevated. I will definitely drink lots before my next test. - Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity. -WB Yeats ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
