/Group,

Just wanted to keep everyone updated:

I made my first decrease (10% per 's rec) from 6.7 mgs of

prozac to 6mgs on Oct. 15th.

So far, so good, haven't really noticed much. Because of prozac's

long half life, I probably won't notice anything for a few weeks.

I'll keep in touch with how I'm feeling a few weeks down the road.

As an aside, since I haven't been good at posting to the group,

(mainly because I didn't do any decreases for 8 months due to a

chaotic series of job changes), I'll refesh folks on my stats:

On ssri's for 15 years--prozac for 10 (20 mgs), lexapro for 5 years

(5 mgs).

Switched back to prozac for a smoother withdrawal a little less than

A month or so ago, I got sick, thought it could be cholergenic

rebound, posted to the group, also was having suicidal thoughts

(nothing I would act on, just the thoughts were very present much of

the time).

Had a consult with , learned it's not good to stay at the

same dose too long or you develop a tolerance (which I didn't know,

I didn't think there could be any harm in going slow).

Also the jump from 5 mgs of Lexapro to 5 mgs of prozac was probably

too steep a jump.

I went back up to 6.7 mgs until I felt better, adjusted to my new,

sometimes challenging, job, and then got back to the business of

tapering.

So here I am, doing my first taper in a LONG time, and I will do my

best to keep everyone updated!

Ruth
