The revised ART guidelines now recommend that Stavudine (d4T) is now recommended

at the dose of 30 mg twice daily for all adult and adolescent patients

regardless of body weight.

The ART centres have been advised accordingly to use Stavudine 30 mg for all

patients on Stavudine based combinations. Also all those patients who are to be

initiated new on ART should be started on Zidovudine based combinations unless

they have anaemia where it cannot be used
