Guest guest
So wonderful to see a support group for this! Forgive me, I am all new to this disorder and have just very very recently (within the last 2 weeks) have diagnosed my Mom as having BPD. I have done soo much research myself - and I feel like I keep reading my own life story over and over again. I am 39 - have a wonderfully supportive husband and two children ages 10 and 13. I have just got enough nerve to tell my Mother that she needs to seek help from an experienced therapist. I will not be able to have much contact with her until she seeks the help she needs - that I also can no longer accommodate her during her visits (she lives 13 hours away) - She has worn out her welcome everywhere else, including my brother and sister in laws. This was hard for me to do, but necessary. We've had correspondence back and forth for a couple of weeks now (only by email because I told her I refuse to be manipulated anymore by telephone conversations). Her behavior has also starting affecting my children, which I will no longer tolerate. I beg her to get help - however, do not think she will since she will never admit to having the problem. If she does not seek help - not sure what to do...... Help!!
