Food sensitivities behind anorexia?

This is just something I was wondering about. My friend just finished

a two week fast and got the same exhiliration from it that I did. It's

got me thinking that perhaps, aside from the body image thing, the

people who struggle with anorexia are feeling the effects of not

putting in their systems some foods that they have undetected

sensitivities to, that make them feel achy, sluggish, dull, heavy,

etc.

If so, perhaps the body image thing is just a way to explain something

they can't put into words, that they just feel better not eating.

I knew a woman who was anorexic and she was always complaining about

how heavy and tired she felt from eating. She said she'd never eat

again if she could find a way to do so.

I worked with a woman who had sensitivities to wheat, sugar, corn, and

dairy. With that combination, there were very few things she could

eat. Seems like if she didn't know that, simply not eating would offer

significant rewards in terms of how she felt.
