Guest guest
I don't know which books to recommend but I do know that Acres USA has good information on natural and organic farming. http://www.acresusa.com/ *The New Organic Grower *by Eliot has really good ratings on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/New-Organic-Grower-Techniques-Gardeners/dp/093003175X/ref=\ pd_sim_b_title_1 On Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 11:01 PM, repent_kog_is_near < repent_kog_is_near@...> wrote: > There is a local farmer who uses grains, does some grass/hay etc. I got > to talk to him, and he is puzzled and interested to even think that > there may be health benefits to having 100% grass-fed. Guest guest
Could you recommend a book/tapes etc that may address this issue. Also any on how the soil fertility helps in the health of the cows and the milk products. ~I would think Salad Bar Beef would be a great book for him. It's by Salatin - the guru of grass-fed beef! Guest guest
One of the all-time best is " Soil, Grass, and Cancer " by Andre Voisin; but it's old. He may be able to download it for free here http://soilandhealth.org/ which is an Aussie library for out-of-print books; actually they may have a lot of good reading for someone like that. " Pottenger's Cats " is probably the best book about how grass-fed is best for quality of milk, etc., that or " The Untold Story of Milk " - a VERY good book! > > There is a local farmer who uses grains, does some grass/hay etc. I got > to talk to him, and he is puzzled and interested to even think that > there may be health benefits to having 100% grass-fed.
