Guest guest
Pam: Krista might be able to comment on this more fully, but I believe the problem with IUI in women who have a history of ectopics is that the reproductive area is so flooded with swimmers (more so than in normal BD) that it actually increases the possibility of ep - also the force of those swimmers being " injected " into that area forces them farther into the tubes and in greater numbers. I have read that IUI is not a good choice for women with a history of ep's and that cost wise it is almost identical to IVF, so it is usually better just to go straight to IVF rather than taking that risk. Wish I could comment more, but it has been awhile since I did my research on that subject and my mind is feeble these days.
