Guest guest
Hi, Please be extra careful when drinking bottled water these days. I noticed some fine print on a plastic bottle of water to read, " with added minerals " . Sounds good? Think again. Calcium Chloride is the first ingredient listed. Calcium Chloride is the chemical that is placed on the highways to melt the ice after it snows. DOW chemicals reports that it causes all sorts of gastrointestinal & respiratory disorders when ingested & yet the FDA approved adding it to bottled water?!? Be cautious, Jim Idol <paul.idol@...> wrote: - > It's dangerous > to take too much calcium, it goes to the wrong places. A recent xray > showed calcium along a neck muscle. Actually, that's principally a matter of not having enough of the right vitamins (principally K2). To grossly oversimplify, vitamin D enables calcium absorption and vitamin K2 makes sure it goes to the right places. -

Guest guest
Here's a blog posting about Nestle Pure Life brand: http://mattscuppa.wordpress.com/2007/07/29/nestle-pure-life-filtered-water-with-\ added-minerals/ He doesn't address the calcium chloride in this post. But according to this material safety data sheet, it is harmful to swallow or inhale calcium chloride: " WARNING! CAUSES IRRITATION TO SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY TRACT. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED. " http://www.chess.cornell.edu/safety/manual/msds/clcmchld.htm How do they get away with this stuff?! Guest guest
I have friends that drink those mineral waters all the time. I ask them " do you know what this stuff is? " They say, " ya, its vitamins " . I ask if they are sure and they respond with " it says calcium " . Once a friend bought me one of those mineral waters and I told them I didn't want to hurt their feelings but, I really didn't want to drink this water. I took it back and exchanged it for a plain water. Guest guest
My ex was a cement finisher. Calcium chloride is also a chemical they put in cement to make it set up faster. He used to have it added on really hot days in the Texas summers. ---- Igo <jimi761@...> wrote: ============= Possibly Select or some other generic big grocery label. inasnit@... wrote: Jim - Which brand of water did you see that on?
