hot pan question

Earlier today I was turned a burner on to medium and put a stainless steel

pan on to warm up for a minute before adding butter. Then I got a phone call

and forgot about the pan. I was on the phone for may 7-10 mins and when I

went back to the kitchen I found the pan on the burner. It was very hot but

wasn't discolored or anything.

Did I ruin my pan?

Is it still safe to cook with it?

TIA!

Suze-

If it's not warped or discolored I seriously doubt its fitness as a

cooking utensil has changed.
