If it's mostly just household waste going under them I don't see why

you'd need to worry - industrial waste is another thing. Also I

believe root crops are the ones you really need to worry about picking

up things like heavy metals. Some leafy greens can bioaccumulate

nitrates, etc. but mushrooms and roots are the ones that are the worst

at absorbing toxins.

You can find out what's in the water of your zip code or county. This

database will also tell you who the biggest sources of pollution are.

In my rural community I didn't expect bad things... WRONG! Rural areas

have some of the worst water quality due to factory farming. No quick

solutions:
