Guest guest
, I doubt it was anything you did that caused your hormones to get messed up, going off the pill probably just brought them to light. I wonder if you have a hormone allergy, specifically to estrogen. I was tested and diagnosed with that, and I have similar symptoms. They treat it by desensitization, same as for a food allergy. I also have food allergies and they were the cause of my vulvar pain. Unlike you I still had periods but they were sooo light, and lasted about three days. I am 26. There are a few places I know of that do hormone allergy testing, but it is not a widely recognised phenomenen. Most doctors don't believe it exists. Mine developed after going off Depo- Provera. You might actually benefit from going on a high estrogen birth contol pill. I have found Ortho-Cyclen (not tricyclen!) does wonders for me, helps clear up my skin, I sleep better, less anxiety. I still have some PMS though, face breaks out, etc. Send me an email if you would like more hormone allergy info and links to the clinics. in SF > I haven't posted here before, though I've been a lurker for quite > awhile. Guest guest
, Thanks for writing. If I do in fact have some sort of allergy thing going on, I think it very likely IS related to going off the Pill though because my immune system got pretty screwed up after going off of it. I remember I caught 3 colds/flus in the first 3 months post- Pill, though at the time I didn't connect any of my physical maladies to the hormone change. I think the hormone withdrawal was quite a shock to the system. My vulvar pain actually improved though; I'm not sure if/how that's related. I was previously on Triphasil and Brevicon 1/35. I'm hoping to try Yasmin or Diane-35 because of the hair loss and increased facial/body hair I've had post-Pill, but at this point I'd be happy to be prescribed anything. Ovcon-35 would probably be my next choice if it's available in Canada. I've bugged my doc a couple of times and I guess I just have to keep wearing her down <sigh>. She insists that my hormones will get back to normal if I'm just patient and wait....and wait....and wait. Gotta love these enlightened doctors. > , > I doubt it was anything you did that caused your hormones to get > messed up, going off the pill probably just brought them to light.
