Guest guest
I remember seeing some posts a while back that were rather negative towards dried fruit. My question is how does this jive with traditional nutrition since it seems from my limited knowledge that many people groups that are extremely healthy have used dried fruit as an important part of there diet, especially certain dried beries, apricots, etc... Thanks!
Guest guest
, IMHO, dried fruit is okay - as long as you're using low sugar fruits (like berries) and they are not preserved with sulfur-based preservatives (as most commerical dried fruits tend to be). I also believe you should not consume any more of the fruit dried than you would fresh. It can be very easy to overeat dried foods because they are lower in volume, but the body still has to rehydrate them in order to digest them. -Lana On 5/14/08, louisvillewapf <louisvillewapf@...> wrote: > > I remember seeing some posts a while back that were rather negative > towards dried fruit. Guest guest
Hi, Here is my experience. Dried fruits & other foods are definitely a part of many traditions, especially where droughts occur. I experimented with an all raw fruitarian diet, thinking I had added insight by adding dried fruits from a dehydrator. After about three years of eating in fruitful bliss, I discovered from my dental hygienist that although my gums were in excellent shape my teeth were worn, no cavities, just wear. The dental team determined it was an excessive amount of acid fruits I consumed on my diet, I stopped the fruit bliss episode & clearly remember how the dried(candied almost) fruit would stick to my teeth when brushing. I vote foe unless soaked at least overnight & eaten in very small portions, never large. I wonder what W.P. opinion would have been?
