Guest guest
Thanks, Kathy. I hadn't thought of my accupuncturist, since he goofed on his Kentucky paperwork this year. I certainly can't afford to pay the initial consultation fee for another one, but mine will order herbs for me from where he is most of the time in San Diego. I used to put a small amount of ephedra in the lung tea I formulated for my husband. It is a wonderful bronchiodialator. I agree that Mountain Rose Herbs is an awesome company, but that doesn't mean that pre-ground seeds won't go stale- obviously it depends on the active principles and when they were ground, etc. Glycerites are often effective, but for many herbs, alcohol is a better solvent. Yup, that's what is supposed to be used for, not weight loss! But, leave it to us Americans to make a perfectly safe substance dangerous. Guest guest
Here in Florida they have these planes that fly over now and again and I have never been able to find out what they leave behind them in the air, it looks like a thin white streak of smoke that goes across the sky. Some conspiracy theorists claim it's some sinister government operation but what I wonder is, how does that affect the " organic " crops down here. Whatever it is would also fall on the grass that the cows are eating. > > I wanted to get some liver support and rather than overpay for > > supplements which may or may not have fillers which agree with me or > > not I was thinking of buying these pure organic powders in bulk but I > > wouldn't know how much to take since they are not in individual > > capsules. Guest guest
There are some different eradication programs the states run to get rid of agricultural pests, etc. and they'll spray from time to time. I found out here in PA you can register yourself as having chemical sensitivity and they'll call you before they spray so you can stay indoors. I think Florida is especially bad - they've used some pretty toxic things before that made a lot of people sick trying to kill mosquitoes I think. I think the chemical was an organophosphate pesticide. There's a neat article out there complaining about them poisoning us with their bug sprays, saying bat houses worked better and they should go back to that. Spraying like that just creates more imbalance and more problems. > > > I wanted to get some liver support and rather than overpay for > > > supplements which may or may not have fillers which agree with me or > > > not I was thinking of buying these pure organic powders in bulk but I > > > wouldn't know how much to take since they are not in individual > > > capsules. Guest guest
Hi, hopefully your livestock do not graze much along the roadside, a constant spray of exaust fumes is probably worse than an occaisional plane overhead. chemicals are everywhere some good some bad. The plant would not be alive if it were some strong herbacide like roundup, they would be dead. It is always a good practice to obtain organic food/herb sources out in nature as far from town & highways as possible. Even then you will want to soak & rinse it several times until clean. I have been foreiging from the wild for quite some time, took it up as a hobby back in college. Guest guest
Here in CA they used malothion sprayed out of low flying helicopters back in the day. They said they were trying to eradicate the mexican fruit fly? From the looks of tings today it would seem the spray was more effective on the bees than the flies. That PA bat barn idea is starting to sound good. Guest guest
New Orleans was the worst. I swear on my life, they go around with this truck that sprays stuff out of the back of it that you can visually see b/c it has a huge diameter and they go up and down the streets and the first time I saw it, this guy was on a bicycle right next to it and he got blasted. The second time it was coming down the street and I was going toward my car and it was like a horror movie where I fumbled with my car keys and got the key out in the nick of time. I find the airplane thing interesting b/c when we consider organic food it's b/c we don't want it sprayed and down here they have organic farms but then you see these huge chem trails in the sky. I just wonder if anyone puts two and two together. I am not terribly worried about it but I just wonder if anyone else thinks about this. > > > > I wanted to get some liver support and rather than overpay for > > > > supplements which may or may not have fillers which agree with > me or > > > > not I was thinking of buying these pure organic powders in bulk > but I > > > > wouldn't know how much to take since they are not in individual > > > > capsules.
