As part of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, which supports community-led programmes in over 25 countries worldwide, Alliance India currently works with over 100 NGO partners across 6 states, with a large presence in Andhra Pradesh. The Alliance envisions a world in which people do not die of AIDS. In such a world, communities have brought HIV/AIDS under control and all people, regardless of their gender, religion, class, caste, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation, have access to easy, affordable and appropriate prevention, care and support and treatment services, backed up by an unbiased system of justice. The position of Director Advocacy & Knowledge Management is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional at senior level, who has a strong commitment to development work that supports the most vulnerable or marginalised populations in the community. Responsibilities • To effectively develop, implement and manage knowledge management programmes of the organization and its NGO partners – strengthening and structuring the collection and analysis of information and its dissemination to and from key stakeholders. • To support and build capacity of the Allliance programmes and NGO partners in using this analysis for developing programmes, policy and communication strategies. • Development and implementation of effective monitoring, review and evaluation strategies and activities for programmes (of the organization as well as NGO partners) • Contributing to the planning, coordination and implementation of the overall Alliance India workplans and related knowledge management workplans. • To foster greater understanding and support for the India HIV/AIDS Alliance's programmes and to lead the disrict level advocacy and knowledge management activities. Must Haves • Strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health. • Atleast 10 years of experience in the health/ development sector with exposure to developing and implementing knowledge management systems for programmes and policy initiatives. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of partnerships, principles of NGO support and/or donor enviornment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Leadership and team management skills.
