Guest guest
> So how did you find out about Weston Price? Before I launch into my WAP story, I would like to know how you avoid all suppliments; it is my dream to only take hi butter/CLO too but can't afford to order the right meats etc. MY WAP STORY ============================================= I've always liked listening to a health program on a public radio station here in the Bay Area of California (94.1) Tuesdays 1:00 is " Your Own Health and Fitness " (yourownhealthandfitness.com)with health practitioner Layna Berman. I listen while I go from building to building in my interior plant watering job. In y2K I was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through chemo. After listening to a show about hormones and how they are affected by estrogen replacement therapy I contacted Layna. She had me take saliva tests through ZRT Labs and read the reports to see where I was unbalanced. She had me use tiny amounts of bio-identical estriol and Progestin. Meanwhile, I was to read Dr. Lee's " What Your Doctor May Not Have Told You About Breast Cancer " and Dr. Atkins diet book. Atkins was to be read from cover to cover which most people don't do so don't get the concept. Atkins was not about stuffing yourself with meat but was about getting off carbs by eating fats and meats which curb that craving. Once the cravings were gone you were to slowly reintroduce carbs until you came up to a balanced diet. If you fell off the wagon you could go back on fats (more than meats) to get a handle then bring back the carbs. Best of all, she had Sally Fallon as a guest and Sally talked about " Empty Calories " . I bought the tape and listened over and over. Signed up for the " Wise Traditions " newsletter. Fascinating. Bought the cookbook " Nourishing Traditions " and began to follow the precepts outlined. Bought every tape available from the next WAP conference for $200 and listened over and over again. Have listened to her 6 tape " Traditional Diets " hundreds of times. Wish more than anything I could get the whole set of every conference since then. I am interested in the soil science of it all and have joined the Brix Talk group even though I live in a cottage with no grounds of my own; just dream of owning acreage one day when my paintings start to sell. I soak grains and make my own sourdough. I travel 26 miles to get pastured eggs plus one chicken with head and feet to make broth. I make kefir and beet kvass, eat raw butter. I eat raw liver once a week from Whole Foods which only carries grass fed but not grass finished beef liver. Would dearly love to order organs/meats/bones from http://www.northstarbison.com/ Have put out a query to the Brix Talk group to see if that's the one which has the high brix pasture. I take hi vit butter oil and CLO, CQ10, Iodine with it's suppliment regimen. WISH I could eat more grass fed beef, make more kefir and order Organic Pasture's raw cheese made at the proper temperature. Want colostrum kefir on a regular basis. Highly recommend iodine. iodine/ Would like to hear more " How I found WAP " stories. ================================================ On Jan 21, 2008, at 6:47 AM, wrote: > Parashis artpages@... portfolio pages: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11468108@N08/
