As part of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance which supports community- led programmes in over 25 countries worldwide, Alliance India currently works with over 100 NGO partners across 6 states, with a large presence in Andhra Pradesh. The Alliance envisions a world in which people do not die of AIDS. In such a world, communities have brought HIV/AIDS under control and all people, regardless of their gender, religion, class, caste, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation, have access to easy, affordable and appropriate prevention, care and support and treatment services, backed up by an unbiased system of justice. The position of Director Care Support and Treatment is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional at senior level, who has a strong commitment to development work that supports the most vulnerable or marginalised populations in the community. Responsibilities • To lead and develop the programmatic and technical capacity of programmes and partners to manage and deliver quality clinical care & services (related to HIV/ AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections) across programmes in Andhra Pradesh. • To develop and effectively implement strategy and plans in relation to care, support and treatment component of the programme. • To advocate the mission, goals and strategies of Alliance India to a range of target audiences and institutions in India • To contribute to the strategic management of India HIV/AIDS Alliance: Andhra Pradesh. • Leadership and team building functions. Must Haves • Strong commitment to the issue of HIV AIDS, sexual and reproductive rights. • Alteast 10 years of progressively responsible senior management experience in the health/ development sector, especially in managing and coordinating HIVAIDS projects. • Sound experience in providing clinical care and services in HIV/ AIDS and/or STI. • Experience in providing technical and programmatic support to and capacity building of organizations/ partners, especially working at the community level. • Leadership and team building skills. • Sound experience of participatory methodologies in programme design and delivery. • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
