Guest guest
I have a puzzling question.. The Life expectancy for americans has increased by 30+ years in 100 years.. Who/what all gets the credit.. I admit, in 100 years, the nation is more sicker, but lives a lot longer. 2 aspects to my question: 1)What killed people fast 100 years ago, that we do not have today. 2)What is making people live longer now, that they did not have it then. The doctor system, vaccinations claim they are the ones to be appreciated for that.. there may some element of truth to it; if it is, how much so? I do not think the nation then or now, is thinking in terms of eating/thinking/living healthy.. if anything, it is much worse now.. If someone thinks that is is the sanitation, then I would point out, today, there are more chemicals used in the sanitation of our homes and churches and offices etc. The above website also points out the 10 top killers in 1907.. Now, I do admit american is still lower in longevity compared to some other nations, but still it is way higher, compared to african nations and even from the USA of 1907.. Another burning/important question: What is killing africans in their 20's, 30's, 40's. It is just not AIDS, is it? http://www.worldbank.org/depweb/english/beyond/beyondco/beg_08.pdf any comments? Thanks -Dan.
