I had complete hysterectomy last year and started with Estratest, but felt irritated all the time, so stopped taking that. Then, I did nothing for a while, but the mood swings, hot flashes, were too much, so doctor put me on femhrt. And I don't know if that could be causing my flareup now. What I'm noticing (and I don't know if this is related to the synthetic hormone, or if I have another problem going on) is the walls of my vagina are what seem to be REALLY hurting and not so much the vestibule. Guest guest Posted January 29, 2002 Report Share Posted January 29, 2002 I use to take estratest, didn't care for the side effects so I asked my dr to put me on something else. I have been on Menest now and do much better on that. I am on a 2.5 dose and found the higher estrogen helps me more. I had a complete hysterectomey and tried many different hormones.
