Guest guest
Dear Friends, National AIDS Control Program (NACP III) don't have a provision of ARV second line treatment in national ARV rollout program can we call it success? While as they denied Second line ARV to those who develop resistance to their first line? We have discussed at length about the feasibility to provide second line ARV to those who needs it there are many people who already develop resistance to their first line and immediately need second line. How many people will die while discussing on the feasibility. Whom to blame who die due to non availability of second line? The Govt should take up this issue seriously and immediately provide the dire need of second line to prevent untimely and unnecessary dead. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Thanks for Tonsing's message to include second line ARV in NACP iii programme, but my question as always remains same and as usual no body seems to bother or reply or help to take it further. We see many people die for lack of any treatment with availability of even first line of ARV drugs, many remain undiagnosed for want of testing facilities because we have no money to cater for every one and 70% of people can not afford same. Every thing and all plans have virtually failed and will continue to do so without any meaningful impact or results. What is the point in talking for success of such plans when such basic requirements are not being met by NACO or other agencies or Government though, there is lot of funding available. I believe unless such agencies and organisations think seriously for their policies for funding the work appropriately, there is no hope for success for any programme or plans. We have suggested that funds should be given directly to organisations working on grass root levels or if nothing else at least these should be reimbursed for expenses incurred for such tests and treatment, but no body seems to be interested. Naturally the menace of HIV will keep on increasing and only way for it to come down will be by undesirable or possibly avoidable deaths, for which they are and will be liable morally at least. We can only hope and wish the best, but just wishing does not work!!! Thanks and I hope this mail is posted on this forum for information to every one and I wonder if someone can make them hear for the facts and real requirements, with regards, Dr.B.K.Sharma, Gwalior Childrens Hospital Charity Email: Gwalior.Hospital@...
