Why is it a waste of time? The car is abandon by the woods and ofc just

wants to give it a parking ticket. What if the registered owner is wanted

for homicide? Will you have someone watch this parked car? Now it is a

different story on why the vehicle is parked by the woods. When our ofc

calls in they say 10-28 for a parker, or rolling 10-28, or 10-28 for info

only, but our computer automatically runs z5 which means runs the reg owner

for warrants and other hot files. Our stuff that we run does not print out

it goes on a computer screen where you can scroll through it and print or

delete it. I have had many good things happen when I have gone the extra

step (getting people on warrants, locating stolen autos right after owner

reports them..etc) and I will always continue to do so.

Then you should get a Hit when you run the plate for stolen/wanted. No need

to go any further. You have all the data you need.

There's no need because there's a separate database that is

cross-checked when you make a wanted query. If the subject is

entered into NCIC and you receive a hit on that wanted record,

you should also get back the hit from the sex offender

database. So, 2 returns for the price of one! :)
