Fresh is best! Keep in mind that one can overdose on fish oil due to the vt. A

content & other things. Fresh fish eggs are a good source of quality fish oils,

just ask for them @ any fresh fish market.

Anyone have any opinion on whether cod liver oil that has NOT been

opened and been refrigerated for about 2 years should be good? Seems

to me it should be fine but I just want to make sure.

Thanks,

Thanks Carolyn and ,

There's no expiration date that I see. It's Blue Ice. Dave said I

should just smell it. It's nitrogen-flushed, so I don't see why it

would go bad without opening it.

Jim, I think it's unlikely to overdose on any reasonable amount of CLO

from the vitamin A because this particular brand as well as the others

most of us use is high in vitamin D. I have a couple articles on the

WAPF site on the fat-soluble vitamins discussing the importance of the

balance between these two.

I personally would be more concerned about getting too much PUFA.

However, the high vitamin A content protects them against oxidation,

so CLO is safer than fish body oil in my opinion.

the expiration date is hard to find on the Blue Ice. it is printed along the

side and you need

to turn the bottle sideways in order to read it.

Another rule of thumb to ponder....never trust anything that has more than three

ingredients in it. Or, how about this one...too much of anything is not good for

you. I have personally witnessed, in hospital ER's, overdoses of such inert

ingredients as plain drinking water. For most of us who do not insanely binge

consume, I agree the chance is remote & would only like to reinforce that the

potential is there to overdose on anything, even oxygen.

Hope you discover a good use for your blue ice product.

Thanks, those are good points. You are right you can get too much of anything.
