Opportunity for young professionals In line with the Clinton foundations strategy to advance its mission to initiate research, dialogue and action, through giving young graduates an opportunity for growth, learning and meaningful service, it is proposed to introduce internships program for young professionals to be associated with the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) -Balasahayoga program being rolled out in Andhra Pradesh, India. Through the internship program it is proposed to select volunteers from different academic backgrounds so that the fellows would get a chance to work for a unique program Balasahayoga. This initiative apart from giving the young professionals an opportunity for hands on learning experience will also contribute to develop much needed human resources who can work for the control of HIV/AIDS. Features of the Programme • The programe is for a period of one year. Clinton HIV/AIDS initiative (CHAI) is open to the possibility of an internship period of 6 months to one year depends upon the assignment the intern would like to take up. • The interns will have an opportunity to go through a broader curriculum on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support, and also initiatives of CHAI with specific focus on the Balasahayoga programme components in AP, most of which will be self study. •The interns will be attached to one / more staff members in the team with clear responsibilities. The attached staff member is expected to provide guidance to the intern. Responsibilities: Though the primary responsibility of the selected interns would be to contribute to the programme delivery of CHAI – Balasahayoga Programme, other responsibilities may include providing wide-ranging research support, developing and maintaining excel databases/models, Documentation, helping develop communications materials, including presentations, regular internal updates etc. Focus areas for interns The main focus areas of the interns should be related to the Key areas of CHAI in the Balshayoga programme i.e. Strengthening the delivery of public health system. Some of the themes that could be possibility be taken up by the interns include the following. The interns can propose any other areas of interest relevant to strengthening the health systems. •Stigma and discrimination associated with health care system. •Quality Assurance among the public health care system. •Document the select case studies of child beneficiaries. •Document the socio-cultural various across the implementation sites, which could have and impact on the program implementation. The benefits •The intern will get an allowance of Rs 15,000/month (all inclusive) and all the actual costs incurred for travel/ accommodation/ communication related to the job shall be reimbursed. Essential qualifications: The intern should have •High level of enthusiasm, motivation and learning skills. •A minimum post graduate degree in any of the social sciences, management and allied disciplines with excellent track record. Final year students who will be completing the course in a few months also can apply. •Proficient in using MS Office, (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Internet and other data analysis software, •Have good communications skills in both Telugu and English, written and oral, strong interpersonal skills •Ability to work as part of a team but to be flexible and take the initiative in a dynamic environment. •S/he should be willing to travel extensively Location •The interns will be based in the Hyderabad office of Clinton Foundation. Interested candidates may choose a topic of their interest, and write a brief note (not exceeding 400 words) on expressing interest, rationale behind choosing the topic, their plan of action in the proposed topic.
