Guest guest
Funny you mention NO2 in this context. I recently discovered that NO2 is produced in the sinus/nasal cavities and mixes with O2 when we breath, but only through the nose. The NO2 nourishes the cells more completely than just oxygen from mouth-breathing, which can cause all sorts of problems -- there's a great article about this on WAPF (www.westonaprice.org/healthissues/facial-development.html). I also noticed that when I've been on the treadmill at the gym and check my heart rate, the numbers go crazy up and down when I begin to breathe thru my mouth, but stabilize and often go down when I return to nose-breathing. Could there be a connection with this NO2 deficiency and atherosclerosis? Do we all just need to breathe through our noses when we exercise (as well as dietary changes)? " Also, and perhaps more importantly, oxidized LDL inhibits nitric oxide synthesis, and nitric oxidie inhibits the formation of atherosclerotic plaques at nearly every point. Nitric oxide (NO) should not be confused with nitrous oxide (N2O), a general anesthetic, or with nitrogen dioxide (NO2) which is a poisonous air pollutant.... was talking about NO, and it looks like the WAPF article you referenced was as well. Just FYI. Tom
Guest guest
Oops, my bad! I definitely meant Nitric oxide (NO) that is produced in our sinus cavities! Thanks, " Nitric oxide (NO) should not be confused with nitrous oxide (N2O), a general anesthetic, or with nitrogen dioxide (NO2) which is a poisonous air pollutant.... was talking about NO, and it looks like the WAPF article you referenced was as well.
