(Kresser), just out of curiosity, what diet/supplements/probiotics have you found to work best for dealing with Crohn's?
Guest guest
, I'm probably not the best person to ask, as my symptoms and experience are somewhat atypical from what I can tell by talking to others with CD. Very often what works for many people with CD causes terrible flares for me (probiotics are an excellent example), and what works for me often causes problems for other CD folks (grains, for instance). That said, I don't really take many supplements at this point. It's all food-based. I do 2-3 TBS of coconut oil, 1 tsp. of high vitamin CLO, 1/2 tsp butter oil, 1 tsp parent essential oil (omega-6 & omega-3 blend). The only pills I take currently are systemic enzymes (Wobenzym) which seem to help with inflammation. I am not on any meds, nor have I ever been. I follow the WAPF principles closely, and that helps a bit. I just had a consultation with Dr. -McBride, though, and will probably try the GAPS diet pretty soon. Hope that helps, Chris > > I ended up having a consultation with Dr. -McBride. (Kresser), are you going to try the Bio-Kult part of the GAPS treatment, given your problems with probiotics? Also, have you ever tried a FAILSAFE elimination diet to test for food intolerances, such as from salicylates, polyphenols, or amines? At some point I will try the Bio Kult, but not right away. It would definitely trigger me. I'm not so interested in a food intolerance diet test. I like the idea of treating the root cause and hopefully dealing with all of the intolerances in one approach, rather than simply eliminating those foods forever. Best, Chris
